2008 is really a great year for Shu Qi. After opening up the year by being a jury member at the Berlin Film Festival, and just briefly following the announcement of her role in the Italian-mafia movie, Street of Dreams, Shu Qi set to do a Hollywood film again, by playing a role in one of the 12 short film anthology of New York, I Love You.
Showbusiness is definitely amazing.
35 days ago- Edison Chen, after thousands of sex scandal photos have been exposed, proclaimed that he is leaving showbusiness, indefinitely. Now hear this — he’s about to film a $13.8 million movie with no less than our very own superstar Shu Qi. Well, Edison didn’t exactly define which part of world he’s quitting showbusiness right?
Leslie Cheung is one of Hong Kong’s finest actors and definitely considered as a very talented singer and musician. 5 years ago today, Leslie committed suicide by jumping from the 24th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Central, Hong Kong. He left a suicide note saying he is suffering from depression. Leslie was 46 years old when he died.
That’s right folks. Shu Qi together with Korean star Choi Min-Soo will be in a movie with Robert De Niro and Andy Garcia.
Currently titled “Street of Dreams“, the movie is speculated to be an Italian Mafia movie centered on the story of Montana Joe, an American gangster in the 1940’s. Choi Min-Soo is speculated to play as Montana Joe’s friend, while Shu Qi is speculated as the lady to be rescued, and probably a woman of one of the main characters.
