I was lucky enough to attend the movie gala premiere of Blood Brothers last August 2007 at the Wanchai Exhibition Hall (Hong Kong), and was luckier being able to approach Shu Qi! The drawback was — I was unprepared and I asked a silly question! Anyway, without further ado, here it is — just click on the play button. Enjoy!

The film Blood Brothershas been chosen to close the 64th Venice Film Festival, although it won’t contend for the Top Golden Lion award. The festival is scheduled to run from August 19 until September.

Forest of Death DVD Hear ye, hear yo — the “funny” horror movie Forest of Death starring Shu Qi, Ekin Cheng, and Rain Li is now out on DVD. I’ve watched this movie with Curry (and sometimes ShuQirazzi) Amy and the great Webmaster Kozo of LoveHKfilm.com himself.

OK I have yet to write my review about this movie, but believe me, watching it has been wildly entertaining. It was supposed to be a horror movie, but was perceived as a funny one. However I still think Director Danny Pang has been a genius tying that ultra-thick plot altogether. Fellow ShuQirazzis, enjoy the DVD. Muah!

My Wife is a Gangster 3 will be released on DVD on April 21, 2007 at YesAsia.com. This is one of the first releases I know so far for this movie, and is a 2-Disc Limited Edition release, with English and Korean subtitles. As this release is a Limited Edition one, you should pre-order your copy now before they ran out of it. Based on my experience (with buying a Three Times DVD), I was able to purchase the first Taiwan release (with English subtitles) for US$18. After a month or so, this version was not available anymore and the next versions were like US$23 or US$26.

Anyway, click here for the My Wife is a Gangster 3 Limited Edition DVD at YesAsia.

Quoting YesAsia — the two-disc Limited Edition includes the following DVD features:

  • Audio Commentary with Director
  • After Commentary
  • Mob Family
  • Hangul is Great!
  • Hong Kong Actors and Hangul
  • Action Scene Collection
  • Blooper Reel
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Deleted Scenes Making Of
  • CG Scenes
  • VIP Screening
  • Music Video
  • Trailers
  • Press Conference
  • Poster Shoot
  • Photo Gallery
  •
I wonder why they never released the movie to the cinemas here in Hong Kong. Oh well.

Shu Qi , Daniel Wu, and Chang Chen look good.

Shu Qi, Chang Chen, Daniel Wu, et. al. have finished shooting “Blood Brothers“. This movie is a Shanghai Triad/Gangster movie (well, a little bit more than that).

There is an entry in IMDB about a 2007 movie under production Tian Tang Kou (「天堂口」 Literal meaning: Gate to Heaven; English title: “Blood Brothers“), and Shu Qi is in the cast.

From the description in the IMDB story plot, the movie is a Chinese triad story. Liu Ye, Daniel Wu, and Yang Youning left their hometown to come to Shanghai for a better life, but found themselves joining the Shanghai triad. Betrayal emerges until the three brothers are eventually up against each other.

There is no information yet regarding Shu Qi’s role in this movie. Let’s hope it is not a “mouh liw” one (Cantonese, meaning “nonsense”, or “rubbish”).
